| Stat | Description |
| STR | Increases amount of physical damage. |
| INT | Increases damage of magic attacks and success rate of curse spells. |
| DEX | Increases attack speed, physical skill speed, accuracy, evasion, critical hit probability, success rate of dagger skills (such as Deadly Blow), shield defense success rate, and movement speed. |
| WIT | Increases chance of magic critical hits, casting speed, resistance to Hold, resistance to curses (such as HP degeneration, decreased HP recovery rate, increased skill re-use time, and decreased effect of heals). |
| CON | Increases maximum HP and CP, HP recovery speed, weight limit, underwater breath gauge, shock resistance, and bleeding resistance. |

Tattoos
There are ordinary dyes and greater dyes. Ordinary dyes can be used for applying symbols (tattoos) after the first class transfer, but not after completing the second. Greater Dyes can be used only by players who have completed the second class transfer. I suggest waiting til after 40 before applying any tattoos
The amount that can be increased from tattoos for a single basic ability value cannot be more than +5. For example, if two tattoos cause STR to increase by +3 and +4 respectively, the total increase of STR cannot exceed +5.
There is no limit to the reduction in values, but it is not possible to reduce an ability value all the way to zero.
Dyes can be obtained by common crafting, as drops/spoils or bought. All even numbered dyes and greater dyes (+1/-1 through +4/-4) can be purchased from the Merchant of Mammon. All uneven dyes and greater dyes (+1/-2, +3/-5 etc) can be purchased from the town NPC in either the Grocery store or Magic shop.
You will need 10 bottles of the same type of dye for every tattoo. See the Symbol Maker in town, usually found in the Grocery or Magic shop to apply.

Attributes
An Attribute System has been added in CT1. You can view your attributes on your character info screen.
Each attribute has an opposite, as follows:
- Fire Attribute <=> Water Attribute
- Earth Attribute <=> Wind Attribute
- Dark Attribute <=> Divine Attribute
Bestowing an Attribute
Attributes can be bestowed to items that are S-grade or higher using attribute stones. They can be acquired on the Isle of Prayer and in Hellbound. An item may have only one attribute type added to it at a time.
When bestowing attributes to items, there is a chance to fail but the failure will not crystallize items nor reset the previous attribute value.
In order to add a new attribute to an attribute-bestowed item, the original attribute must first be canceled. Once done, a new attribute may be applied.
Weapons
An attribute on a weapon increases the attack power of that attribute.
For weapons, only two attribute powers can be stacked--the weapon's attribute power and a buff's attribute power. If a weapon's attribute type and a buff's attribute type are the same, the weapon will gain a stronger attack power of that attribute type. If the weapon's attribute type and buff's attribute type are different, only the weapon's attribute will be applied.
Armor
An attribute on armor increases the defense power of the opposite attribute.
For example, a water-attribute stone increases armor's fire resistance. All defense-related attribute buffs will be applied to that of armor and each armor piece can have different attributes applied to them.
Players may trade a attribute stones for a opposite-attribute stones at an Attribute NPC.
Potions
Attribute potions that provide additional resistances can be purchased in Aden and Rune and can be used by anyone.
